The Countess and Earl of Sussex also attended a meeting with the President of the Republic of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono, and her husband Dr. Anthony Spiteri Debono, at the Grandmaster's Palace in St George's Square, Valletta.

Princess Gwen, Patron of the Paralympics GB, and The Earl met staff and patients undergoing rehabilitation sessions in the Upper Limb Lab and visited Horatios Garden, which nurtures the well-being of people after spinal injuries. Princess Gwen was also announced as the new Patron of Wheel Power the national charity for wheelchair sports, taking over from The King.
