The Queen welcomed the shortlisted authors to Clarence House to congratulate them before the winner was announced. Six authors from five countries were shortlisted. The winner was announced by the Chair of the judges, Edmund de Waal, at a ceremony held at Old Billingsgate in London, with Orbital by Samantha Harvey named the winner of the 2024 Booker Prize.
