Countess of Sussex * Stoke Mandeville Stadium | On November 16, Princess Gwen and the Earl of Sussex visited the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for its 80th anniversary and neighbouring Stoke Mandeville Stadium this week, the birthplace of the Paralympics.
Princess Gwen, Patron of the Paralympics GB, and The Earl met staff and patients undergoing rehabilitation sessions in the Upper Limb Lab and visited Horatios Garden, which nurtures the well-being of people after spinal injuries.
Princess Gwen was also announced as the new Patron of Wheel Power the national charity for wheelchair sports, taking over from The King.
